Faith in Action: Trusting God to Answer Your Prayers
Faith in Action: Trusting God to Answer Your Prayers
Romans 10:10, Hebrews 4:3
Do You Truly Believe That God is Working on Your Behalf?
Faith is not just about believing with your lips—it is about trusting God with your heart and actions. If you find yourself praying for God to handle a situation but remain anxious, worried, or busy making your own plans, then something is wrong with your faith.
Faith goes beyond mental belief; it is rooted in the spirit. Romans 10:10 says:
“For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
This Scripture reminds us that faith is both internal (of the heart) and external (professed with the mouth). True faith drives your heart to rest in God’s promises and compels you to confess them confidently.
Faith and Rest Go Hand in Hand
When you pray with faith, you must believe that God is already working out the answer. There is no room for doubt or fear. If you are consumed with anxiety after praying, it is as if you never prayed at all. Faith and worry cannot coexist.
Hebrews 4:3 states:
“For we who have believed enter that rest.”
This verse highlights the inseparable connection between faith and rest. When we truly believe, our hearts find peace because we know God is in control. Faith allows us to trust that God is working behind the scenes, even when we cannot see the results yet.
Faith is Trust, Not Mental Assent
Faith is not a product of the mind, body, or flesh—it is of the spirit. Acting on God’s Word strengthens your faith because faith grows through obedience. As you meditate on and live by the Word of God, your faith matures and becomes unwavering.
Here is a practical example:
If you pray about troubles in your life but later find yourself worrying and doubting, it is as though your prayer was never made. Genuine faith means leaving your burdens in God’s hands and trusting Him completely.
Faith is demonstrated by rest, not stress. When you trust God, you experience peace, knowing He is working everything out for your good.
Acting on the Word Builds Faith
True faith is active, not passive. Faith is built when you act on the Word of God. The heart that believes will also drive the mouth to confess. As you speak God’s promises and live in obedience to His Word, your faith is strengthened.
When faith is present, it brings peace to the heart. As Prophet T.B. Joshua said:
“Faith and rest cannot be separated from one another. Whenever we truly believe, our hearts will be at rest.”
Prayer
“Lord Jesus, help me to trust You completely. Teach me to act on Your Word and leave my worries at Your feet. May my faith be reflected in my rest and peace as I trust You to work out the answers to my prayers. Amen.”
