Where Do You Belong? Are You Ready to Receive God’s Holy Spirit?

John 5:14, Acts 2:38, Romans 8:9

The Holy Spirit interacts with every individual daily, but people respond to Him in different ways depending on the condition of their hearts and lives. Here are the four categories of people the Holy Spirit deals with: Where do you belong?

1️⃣ Conscious Sinners

These individuals are aware of what is wrong but still choose to do it. (John 5:14)

In John 5:14, Jesus said:
“Now you are well; so stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”

  • The Holy Spirit works in the hearts of conscious sinners to warn them of the dangers of satisfying the desires of the flesh and to open their eyes to the existence of hell.

  • He warns them that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. (Romans 6:23)

2️⃣ Willing-to-Repent Souls

These are people who feel a strong conviction of their wrongdoing and are ready to turn to God.

They are ready to turn away from their sins and seek God’s forgiveness. The Holy Spirit comes into their hearts as a helper, convicting them of their wrongdoing and revealing the blessings of salvation.
Acts 2:38 reminds us:

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit shows these individuals the joy, peace, and eternal life they will gain by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

3️⃣ Believers of All Nations

These are Christians who have accepted Jesus Christ and strive to walk in His ways.

  • The Holy Spirit dwells constantly in their hearts as their daily companion, guiding them in truth, strengthening their faith, and helping them to live a life that pleases God.

  • He leads them to places where Jesus will be welcomed and equips them to spread the Gospel of salvation through their lives and testimonies. (Romans 8:14)

    Romans 8:9 says:
“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.”
The Holy Spirit leads believers to places and opportunities where Jesus will be welcomed and glorified through their actions and words.

4️⃣ God’s Representatives on Earth

These are prophets, apostles, pastors, evangelists, and ministers of God who have been called to represent Him on Earh. (Ephesians 4:11–12)

  • The Holy Spirit reminds them of their covenant with God, which is more important than the byproducts of their anointing.

  • He calls them to practice love, forgiveness, humility, and giving generously and to lead by example.

  • He reminds them that their calling is not just about performing miracles or preaching but about embodying the character of Jesus.

  • He ensures they focus on glorifying God, not themselves, and equips them to feed God’s people with His Word. (John 21:16–17)

A Word of Wisdom from Prophet T.B. Joshua:

“God’s special gift to mankind is available to those who are genuinely available for Him. If you make yourself available, the Holy Spirit will come in unnoticed, but His presence will manifest in blessing, healing, and salvation. However, if you refuse to feed Him with genuine forgiveness, love, humility, and care, He will leave you unnoticed.”

Key Question:

Are you ready to surrender yourself completely to God and allow His Holy Spirit to lead you?

Prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I surrender myself to You completely. Take more of me and give me more of You. Fill my heart with Your Holy Spirit and guide me to live a life that glorifies You. Amen.”
