The Power of Believing: Feeding Your Soul with God’s Word
The Power of Believing: Feeding Your Soul with God’s Word
Romans 10:17, Joshua 1:8, John 6:63
Why Do People Get Different Results When Calling on the Name of Jesus?
Have you ever wondered why two people, praying in the same name of Jesus, may experience different results? The answer lies in their capacity to believe. Our capacity to believe determines how much we can receive when we call on Jesus, and this capacity is built by feeding our soul with the Word of God.
Romans 10:17 says:
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
Faith is not something that just happens—it grows as we engage with God’s Word. The more we meditate on Scripture, the more our capacity to believe increases. This determines the level at which God’s Spirit works in our lives.
How to Feed Your Soul
To grow in faith and increase your capacity to believe, you must learn to feed your soul consistently. Here’s how:
💥 1. Read the Word Slowly, Repeatedly, and Attentively
When reading your Bible, take your time. Read each passage slowly and more than once to absorb its meaning. Pay close attention to the words, and let them speak to your heart.
Don’t rush to finish a chapter—focus on understanding what God is saying.
As you read, allow the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and illuminate the Word.
💥 2. Read with Forgiveness in Your Heart
The condition of your heart determines how much of God’s Word you can absorb. If your heart is filled with unforgiveness, bitterness, or grudges, it will block the flow of God’s Spirit.
Before reading, take time to examine your heart. Forgive those who have hurt you and ask God to cleanse your heart.
A heart at peace with others is fertile ground for God’s Word to take root.
💥 3. Meditate on the Word
Joshua 1:8 teaches us:
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Meditating on the Word means reflecting on it deeply, letting it shape your thoughts and actions. As you meditate:
The Word of God will move from your mind into your heart (spirit).
Your spirit will begin to act upon the Word, aligning your life with God’s promises.
💥 4. Ask for Understanding
Some parts of the Bible may be difficult to understand, but don’t be discouraged.
Ask God to help you understand His Word. Pray for insight and revelation.
Seek help from a servant of God (pastor, teacher, or mentor) to explain difficult passages.
💥 5. Honor and Reverence God’s Word
The release of God’s Spirit depends on how much we honor and respect His Word. The more we revere His Word, the more of His Spirit we will experience. John 6:63 reminds us:
“The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”
The Spirit of God is released into our lives to the degree that we stand in awe of His Word. Treat the Bible as a treasure, not a casual book.
Building Capacity to Believe
To do more in the name of Jesus, our faith must grow. And faith grows as we increase our capacity to believe by feeding our soul with God’s Word.
The more we meditate on Scripture, the more our faith becomes active and alive.
The more we act upon God’s Word, the more our capacity to receive His blessings expands.
As Prophet T.B. Joshua said, “The Spirit of God will be released to the degree or level you stand in reverence and honor of His Word.”
Prayer
“Lord Jesus, increase my capacity to believe in You. Teach me to read, meditate, and act upon Your Word daily. Help me to honor and revere Your Word, so that Your Spirit will be released in my life. Amen.”
