WHAT KIND OF REPORTS DO PEOPLE USUALLY HEAR ABOUT YOU?
Exodus 18:1,11, Mark 8:27
Positive reports? Negative reports? Sometimes good, sometimes bad reports? Or are you not sure? 😄 I’ll leave you to search your conscience for an answer. 😃
MOSES’ STORY – KNOWN BY GOD’S WORKS
In Exodus 18:1, we read about Moses and the reputation he had:
“Moses’ father-in-law, Jethro, heard about everything God had done for Moses and his people, the Israelites. He heard especially how the LORD had rescued them from Egypt.”
Moses’ reputation was based on the extraordinary works of God in his life and the way he represented God’s glory. His life became a testimony of God’s power and faithfulness.
Because of what Jethro heard, he acknowledged the greatness of God in Exodus 18:11:
“Now I know that the LORD is greater than all other gods.”
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU AND ME?
You and I are supposed to be known for:
👉 The kind of God we serve.
👉 What God has done for us.
👉 What God has done through us to impact the lives of others.
Your life should testify to God’s goodness, faithfulness, and power. The way you live, speak, and act should draw others closer to Him.
EVEN JESUS ASKED ABOUT HIS REPUTATION
In Mark 8:27, Jesus Christ asked His disciples a profound question:
“Who do people say I am?”
Why did Jesus ask this question? He was teaching us to reflect on the example we are setting and the impression we are leaving on others. Are people seeing Christ in us?
WHAT REPORTS SHOULD PEOPLE HEAR ABOUT YOU?
1️⃣ That you are a child of God, walking in His light.
2️⃣ That your life brings glory to God through your actions, words, and testimony.
3️⃣ That you live a life of love, integrity, humility, and faith.
4️⃣ That you positively impact the lives of others with the resources and gifts God has blessed you with.
PRAYER
🙏 Lord, help me to be conscious of Your presence in my life through positive thinking, talking, and acting so that men may see Your glory in my life. Let the reports of my life draw others closer to You and bring honor to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
