Faith - Our Heavenly Currency
Faith - Our Heavenly Currency
Matthew 17:20-21, Hebrews 11:1, Romans 12:3
Faith: The Currency of Heaven
In the same way that money is used as currency to trade for goods and services in the world, faith is the currency of communication with heaven. Faith is what we “spend” to access the blessings and resources of God’s kingdom.
- Hebrews 11:1:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith gives substance to our hopes and makes our unseen prayers tangible.
Faith Comes in Measures
Faith is not static—it has measures, just like money has denominations.
Little Faith
Matthew 6:30: Jesus said to His disciples, “You of little faith, why do you worry?”
Little faith gets small results. It’s enough to believe in God, but it may not be enough to receive big blessings or handle major challenges.
Great Faith
Matthew 8:10: Jesus marveled at the centurion’s faith and said, “I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.”
Great faith moves mountains and accesses greater blessings.
Growing Faith
- Romans 12:3: God has given everyone “a measure of faith.” But that faith can grow as we pray, fast, and act in obedience to God’s Word.
Faith as Heavenly Currency
Faith is heaven’s currency, used to purchase heavenly blessings. The measure of faith you have determines:
The Size of the Blessing You Can Receive
Just like you need sufficient money to buy something expensive, you need enough faith to access bigger blessings.
Matthew 17:20: Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
The Speed of Your Breakthrough
- Sometimes, the delay in receiving an answer to prayer is not because God is unwilling, but because your faith needs to grow to the level required for the blessing.
Your Ability to Overcome Challenges
- Faith equips you to overcome trials and tribulations. Without sufficient faith, challenges may seem overwhelming.
Why Don’t Some Prayers Get Answered?
When you pray and don’t receive an immediate answer, it doesn’t necessarily mean you lack faith. It could mean:
Your Faith Is Not Yet Enough
The heavenly resources you’re asking for require a higher level of faith than you currently have.
Matthew 17:21: Jesus told His disciples that certain miracles require prayer and fasting to strengthen their faith.
God’s Timing
Some blessings come only in God’s perfect time. Delays are not denials; they are opportunities to grow your trust in Him.
Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
God’s Will
- What you’re asking for must align with God’s will. Even Jesus prayed, “Not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
Unforgiveness or Sin
Unforgiveness, pride, or sin can block your prayers from being answered.
Psalm 66:18: “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”
What Should You Do?
Don’t Give Up
Keep pressing into God’s presence through prayer, worship, and studying His Word.
Luke 18:1: “Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.”
Pray and Fast the More
Fasting strengthens your spirit and increases your faith.
Matthew 17:21: Jesus told His disciples that certain breakthroughs come only through prayer and fasting.
Examine Your Love Walk
Faith works through love. If your love for others is lacking, it may weaken your faith.
Galatians 5:6: “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”
Align With God’s Will
Seek God’s opinion and will concerning your request. God’s will is always perfect.
1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
Grow Your Faith
Faith grows through hearing and acting on God’s Word.
Romans 10:17: “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ.”
Faith Follows Process
Faith is not instant; it follows a process of growth and development. Look at the disciples:
The Beginning Stage:
- Their faith was small when they first started following Jesus.
The Testing Stage:
- Their faith was tested during storms, trials, and challenges.
The Maturity Stage:
- Their faith became great as they witnessed Jesus’ resurrection and received the Holy Spirit.
A Prayer to Strengthen Your Faith
“Lord Jesus, I thank You for the measure of faith You have given me. Forgive me for the times I have doubted or been impatient in prayer. Help me to grow my faith through prayer, fasting, and obedience to Your Word. Teach me to align my desires with Your will and to trust Your perfect timing. Strengthen my love walk, so that my faith may work powerfully through love. I surrender all my requests to You and trust You to provide in abundance, according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Final Encouragement
Faith is the currency that unlocks heavenly blessings. The more you invest in growing your faith, the more resources you can access from heaven.
Don’t give up when answers are delayed—press on in prayer, fasting, and trust in God.
Remember, faith follows process. Allow God to grow your faith step by step.
Declaration
“I declare that my faith will grow daily as I seek God through prayer, fasting, and His Word. I will not be discouraged by delays or challenges, for I know that God’s timing is perfect and His will is best. My faith is the heavenly currency that connects me to God’s blessings, and I will invest in it wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
