PATIENCE IS THE POWER THAT FORCES DECEPTION TO REVEAL ITSELF?
PATIENCE IS THE POWER THAT FORCES DECEPTION TO REVEAL ITSELF
Have You Fallen Victim to Scammers?
Proverbs 14:12, Ecclesiastes 7:8, Matthew 7:15-20
Beware of Shortcuts and Quick Fixes
Scams and deception often thrive on the promise of shortcuts—offering something that appears too good to be true. Whether it’s a high-paying dream job you didn’t apply for, instant love, quick marriage, or even miraculous results for no effort, such promises are red flags.
Prophet TB Joshua says that “Patience is the power that forces deception to reveal itself”
Proverbs 14:12:
“There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”
The Tactics of Scammers and Deception
The Promise of Immediate Results Without Process
Scammers prey on impatience, offering quick solutions without effort.
John 10:10:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Appealing to Desperation
Desperation for love, money, success, or miracles can make people ignore warning signs.
Example: Being asked to pay money to receive a “miracle” or favor.
Focus on Results Over Process
Satan’s gifts never follow God’s process. What he gives with one hand, he takes away with the other.
Matthew 4:8-10:
“The devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. ‘All this I will give You,’ he said, ‘if You will bow down and worship me.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’”
God Honors Process
Unlike Satan, God honors process. Everything He does follows a purposeful order:
Creation: God created the world in six days, following a clear process (Genesis 1).
Jesus’ Life: Jesus was prepared for 30 years before fulfilling His ministry in just three years.
Joseph’s Journey: Joseph endured betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment before becoming the ruler of Egypt (Genesis 37–41).
Ecclesiastes 7:8:
“The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.”
The Danger of Shortcuts
Shortcuts Lead to Destruction
What seems like an easy way out often ends in regret, pain, or worse.
Proverbs 10:2:
“Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.”
Satan’s Tricks Always Come With a Price
Satan gives quickly but takes away much more in return. His gifts lead to bitterness, destruction, and death.
2 Corinthians 11:14:
“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.”
You Lose God’s Best for Your Life
- By seeking shortcuts, you forfeit the growth, lessons, and blessings that come with God’s process.
How to Avoid Falling Victim to Scams and Deception
1. Be Patient
Patience is the power that forces deception to reveal itself.
Take time to think and pray before making decisions. Don’t act in haste.
Psalm 27:14:
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
2. Follow God’s Process
Trust that God’s timing and process are perfect. Avoid shortcuts, even when the wait is hard.
Isaiah 40:31:
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
3. Test the Spirit Behind Every Offer
Be discerning. Ask yourself, “Does this align with God’s Word and principles?”
1 John 4:1:
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
4. Seek God’s Guidance in Prayer
Before making any decision, pray for wisdom and clarity.
James 1:5:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
5. Know God’s Word
The more you know God’s Word, the easier it is to recognize deception.
Psalm 119:105:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
6. Look for Red Flags
- Promises of easy money, sudden love, or quick success without effort are signs of deception.
Practical Steps to Avoid Being Scammed
Verify Before You Trust
- Research every offer, person, or situation. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Don’t Pay for Promises
- Miracles, blessings, and favor from God cannot be purchased. Beware of anyone who asks for money in exchange for spiritual benefits.
Seek Counsel From Trusted Advisors
- Talk to a mentor, pastor, or wise friend before making major decisions.
A Prayer for Discernment and Patience
“Lord Jesus, I thank You for being my guide and protector. Forgive me for the times I’ve acted in haste or fallen for deception. Teach me to trust Your process and wait patiently for Your perfect timing. Help me to discern between truth and lies, and give me wisdom to make godly decisions. I surrender my plans to You and ask for the grace to follow Your ways, no matter how long it takes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Final Encouragement
Patience reveals the truth. If something is from God, it will align with His Word and follow His process.
Trust God’s timing and avoid the temptation of shortcuts. Remember, God’s blessings come with no sorrow attached (Proverbs 10:22).
Declaration
“I will not be deceived by shortcuts or false promises. I will trust God’s process and wait patiently for His timing. My focus will remain on His Word, and I will test every spirit to ensure it aligns with His truth. God’s blessings are worth the wait, and I choose to follow His perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
