Privacy Policy

Generation of Spiritual Worshippers (“GOSW”, “we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you subscribe to our newsletter, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it.
We keep this simple on purpose: GOSW is a faith platform, not a business that trades in data. We only collect what you choose to give us, and we only use it to stay in touch with you.
Who we are (data controller)

What information we collect
When you fill in our newsletter subscription form, you provide:
- First name and last name
- Email address
- Gender
- Age group
- Country
- Phone number (optional)
We do not ask for, or intentionally collect, any other personal information through the site. We do not knowingly collect payment details, government identifiers, or sensitive data beyond the fields listed above.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use the information you submit only to:
- send you our newsletter and faith resources, and
- respond to you if you reach out to us.
Our lawful basis for this is your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the subscription form (GDPR Article 6(1)(a); and the equivalent under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023). To confirm it is really you, we use double opt-in: after you sign up, we email you a confirmation link, and you are only added once you click it.
You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights and How to unsubscribe below). Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did lawfully before you withdrew it.
How your information is stored and who processes it
Your subscription is handled by a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google — your submitted details are received through Google Forms and sheets and are then transferred into Google Cloud BigQuery for storage; our newsletter is sent using Google’s email services.
- Netlify — hosts this website.
- Cusdis — powers the comment section on our posts (only relevant if you choose to leave a comment).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
International data transfers
Because we rely on Google and Netlify, your information may be stored or processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place to protect your data in line with applicable data-protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, or ask us to delete your data, we remove your details from our active subscriber list.
If you sign up but never click the confirmation link, your details stay in an unconfirmed, pending state — you are never added to our active subscriber list and never receive our newsletter. Signups left unconfirmed for more than 30 days are flagged for our review and then removed by us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023), you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you,
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or out of date,
- ask us to delete your information,
- restrict or object to how we use it,
- request a copy of your information in a portable format, and
- withdraw your consent at any time.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority — for example, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), or your national supervisory authority within the EU/UK.
How to unsubscribe
Every newsletter we send includes an Unsubscribe link, which opens a pre-addressed email to us — just send it and we will remove your details from our subscriber list. You can also email us directly at any time at spiritworshipgen@gmail.com.
Children’s privacy
GOSW’s content is intended for a general audience. If you are below the age of digital consent in your country (for example, under 16 in parts of the EU, or under 13 in some countries), please subscribe only with the involvement and permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us their information without such permission, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced in our newsletter.
