God Speaks Before He Moves
🌿 God Speaks Before He Moves: Are You Listening?
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” — Genesis 1:3
From the very first breath of Scripture, we see a principle or divine pattern that runs through the entire Bible: God always speaks before He acts. His Word is not an afterthought—it is the seed from which His works grow.
- Before creation — “And God said…” (Genesis 1:3)
- Before judgment — He warned Noah (Genesis 6:13)
- Before deliverance — He spoke to Moses from the burning bush (Exodus 3:4–10)
- Before healing — Jesus declared the Word before the miracle
This is not coincidence. This is how God operates.
The pattern is timeless: His Word always precedes His work.
🌿 The Divine Principle
God’s Word always precedes His work.
If you are waiting for God to move in your life, the real question is not:
👉 “When will He act?”
but rather:
👉 “What has He said?”
The absence of His Word in your heart is the absence of your preparation for His move.
When His Word is planted, believed, and obeyed—the ground is ready for His hand to act.
Prophet TB Joshua once said:
“The Word dominating you is the Lordship of Christ in you. When His Word rules your heart, His power rules your situation.”
This means many believers are not actually waiting on God—God is waiting on them to hear, believe, and obey the last Word He spoke.
Let’s go deeper on this divine principle:
1️⃣ The Word Prepares the Ground for the Move
God’s Word is not empty—it is power in seed form. When it is spoken, received, and believed, it creates an atmosphere for His power to manifest.
📖 “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11
That means:
- If you are waiting on God to act, the real question is not “When will He move?” but “What has He said?”
- The absence of His Word in your heart is the absence of your preparation for His move.
- When His Word is planted in faith, His hand is stretched in power.
2️⃣ God Waits on Us to Believe His Word
Prophet TB Joshua once said:
“The Word dominating you is the Lordship of Christ in you. When His Word rules your heart, His power rules your situation.”
Many times, it is not that we are waiting on God—it is that God is waiting on us to obey the last instruction He gave.
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! 16 Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground.
- Israel didn’t cross the Red Sea until they moved forward at His Word (Exodus 14:15).
- Peter didn’t walk on water until he stepped out on Jesus’ Word, “Come.” (Matthew 14:29).
- The centurion’s servant was healed the moment Jesus spoke the Word (Matthew 8:8–13).
Every miracle is born from a moment when someone took God at His Word.
3️⃣ Practical Examples in Our Daily Walk
Many believers cry for God’s intervention, but God is saying, “I have already spoken—why have you not acted?”
God does not respond to panic; He responds to faith in His spoken Word.
Faith is not just believing God can do it—it is believing what He said and acting like it is true.
“You are my friends if you do what I command.” — John 15:14
Let’s bring this truth into today’s realities:
- 📌 Financial breakthrough — You’re praying for increase, but God already spoke about giving, stewardship, and diligence (Malachi 3:10, Proverbs 10:4). Why don’t you proclaim His Word back to Him in prayer?
- 📌 Healing — You’re asking for health, but God already declared, “By His stripes you are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). The question is—are you walking in that faith?
- 📌 Peace in your home — You want restoration, but God already commanded, “Forgive as I have forgiven you” (Colossians 3:13). Forgiveness releases His peace.
God is never late. His Word is never empty.
His move always follows His mouth.
Until you align your steps with His Word, you will remain in the “waiting room” of unanswered prayers.
4️⃣ Stop Begging—Start Obeying
In creation, His Word carried the power to form the universe.
In salvation, His Word—Jesus Himself—became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14)
In your life, His promises are the seeds of His actions.
People of God, let’s get it right:
- Stop begging God for a move while ignoring His voice.
- Before you ask Him to change your situation, ask Him to remind you of the last Word He gave you—and do it.
🔥 God’s promises are voice-activated. His miracles are Word-activated.
📖 “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!” — Luke 1:45
🙏 Prayer
LORD, speak into my heart today. Let me hear, believe, and obey every Word from You. Take more of me and give me more of You. Amen.
