When the Devil Beats His Drum in the Church
The Devil’s Rhythm in God’s House
1 Corinthians 4:20, Philippians 2:6–7, Acts 2, Matthew 6:33
Introduction: A Subtle Sound, A Dangerous Beat
There is a drum beating in many churches today. It is not the rhythm of heaven, but the drumbeat of deception—and many are dancing to it without knowing.
Why is the devil beating his drum in many churches today—and why are so many dancing to the rhythm?
Because the sound is smooth, intelligent, eloquent, and motivational. But it lacks power.
Because in too many pulpits, we have eloquence without encounter, intelligence without intimacy, and head knowledge without heart revelation.
“There is no amount of mental strength that can defeat Satan.”
Satan is beating drums of distraction, performance, and intellectualism in today’s pulpits. The church is singing along, yet demons remain unchallenged, hearts remain unchanged, and lives remain untransformed.
Intellect does not cast out demons. Grammar does not break chains. A photographic memory of Scripture without a heart of obedience holds no weight in the spirit realm.
Only a yielded heart, rooted in humility, obedience, and soaked in the Word, carries true authority.
Words Without Power
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of words but of power.”
— 1 Corinthians 4:20
Today, sermons are polished. Vocabulary is impressive. Doctrine is defended with vigor.
But demons don’t bow to grammar.
They bow to revelation.
As Prophet TB Joshua rightly said:
“The reward of our relationship with Jesus is power.”
And yet, in many churches today:
- There is boasting instead of brokenness.
- There is debate instead of deliverance.
- There is performance instead of presence.
We’ve traded Spirit-filled pulpits for philosophical podiums.
And the devil is clapping to the beat—because where the Spirit is not welcomed, power is absent.
Head Knowledge vs. Revelation Knowledge
There is a difference between knowing about God and truly knowing Him.
Head knowledge makes you aware of God. Revelation knowledge brings you into relationship with God.
Head Knowledge | Revelation Knowledge |
---|---|
Studies God | Walks with God |
Quotes Scripture | Lives Scripture |
Performs religion | Pursues righteousness |
Argues doctrine | Brings Jesus to the Scene (Demonstrates power) |
Instructs others | Obeys the Word |
“To the degree we reverence His Word in our hearts — to that same degree will His Spirit (power) be released through us.” - TB Joshua
“The reward of our relationship with Jesus is power.” — Prophet TB Joshua
The devil is not afraid of well-crafted sermons, seminary degrees, or loud declarations. He trembles at obedience. He fears revelation.
The Holy Spirit is not drawn to intelligence. He is drawn to humility, reverence, and obedience.
Why the Devil Is Beating His Drum Unhindered
1. Because Many Churches Are Full of Empty Words
A pastor may preach powerful sermons but harbor unforgiveness in his heart.
A preacher may teach grace but withhold mercy.
Tongues are forced or spoken by imitation, not inspiration—though only the Holy Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2).
Prosperity is exalted above salvation.
People are asked to sow seeds before being told to seek Jesus.
The altar has become a marketplace, not a meeting place.
When the Word of God is no longer hidden in the heart (Psalm 119:11), it becomes a performance rather than a presence.
“God will withhold the phenomena of signs and wonders in the church until Word and Spirit come together.” — Prophet TB Joshua
2. Because Pride Has Replaced Humility in Leadership
A true servant of God never becomes the source of the miracle. He merely becomes the channel. But today:
Some pastors refuse to let sick members visit where healing is flowing.
Some church leaders make themselves the gatekeepers of God.
Some exploit desperation by turning blessings into business transactions.
Yet Jesus, who had all power, humbled Himself:
“Though He was in very nature God, He did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage…Rather, He made Himself nothing, taking the nature of a servant…”
— Philippians 2:6–7
If Jesus walked in humility and surrender, how can we justify walking in pride and performance?
3. Because the Church Has Substituted Power for Popularity
Many have traded revelation for recognition, anointing for applause, and consecration for charisma.
“God cannot entrust His power to a prideful heart.”
The devil knows he doesn’t need to destroy a church if he can simply distract it—if he can replace spiritual fire with motivational hype.
Let Us Follow Jesus’ Example
“Though He was in very nature God, He did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage…
Rather, He made Himself nothing, taking the nature of a servant…”
— Philippians 2:6–7
Jesus was full of power, yet clothed in humility.
He never used revelation to boast, but to bless.
He didn’t build a brand—He built the broken. He didn’t build branches—He built Faith Men & Women
Final Cry: Let Word and Spirit Return
“God will withhold the phenomena of signs and wonders in the church until Word and Spirit come together.”
— Prophet TB Joshua
Until our hearts tremble at His Word,
Until the altar becomes holy again,
Until our sermons point to the Savior and not self—
The drumbeat will continue.
And many will keep dancing.
But the true Church will rise—a Church of revelation, humility, and power.
What Must the Church Do Now?
Return to Revelation
Not intellectualism, but intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
Not clever preaching, but Christlike living.
Return to Obedience
Power doesn’t come from shouting—it flows from surrender.
Demons respond to obedience, not to volume.
Return to Humility
There is no revival without brokenness.
There is no authority without submission.
Let us return. Let us repent. Let us reverence the Word once again.
The time is now. The Spirit is calling.
Final Takeaway
If the church does not return to the Word and the Spirit, satan’s music will continue to entertain us while we miss the movement of God.
Ask yourself:
Are you dancing to satan’s drumbeat of self?
Or are you moving to the rhythm of heaven’s call?
Let your prayer be:
“Lord, help me to exchange my eloquence for obedience, my image for intimacy, and my pride for Your power.”
