Figure 1: God is not revealed to your head—He is revealed to your heart - SpiritWorshipGen

🌿 Revelation Is Received by the Heart, Not by the Head

“Your head may be full of knowledge, but it is all nothing without a heart full of love.”

Prophet TB Joshua

In today’s world, intellect is glorified. We admire education, celebrate eloquence, and pursue theology like a science. Yet in all our study, we can forget the simple truth:

God is not revealed to your head—He is revealed to your heart.

This is why Jesus emphasized childlike faith. He said:

“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:3

Children approach with trust, humility, and dependence—not intellectual pride. God’s truths are hidden from the wise and revealed to the humble:

“I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.”
Matthew 11:25

So, let us not rely solely on our intellect but come before God with a heart ready to receive, trust, and obey.

🌿 God Seeks Obedience, Not Eloquence

You can read every book, attend every seminary, memorize Greek and Hebrew… and still never know God.

Because knowledge informs.
But revelation transforms.

God is not revealed through philosophy, education, or intelligence. He reveals Himself to the heart, not to the head.

Jesus said:

“If you love Me, obey My commandments.” — John 14:15
“You are my friends if you do what I command.” — John 15:14

Notice—He didn’t say, “If you understand theology, you are My disciples” or “If you have a PhD…”
He said, “If you love Me…”
Obedience is the true measure of love. And love lives in the heart, not the head.

Prophet TB Joshua says:
> “Spiritual growth is a function of obedience to God’s Word.”

This is why the Bible emphasizes that faith without works is dead:

“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.” — James 2:26

Revelation Is Heart-Dependent, Not Head-Driven

True faith is not intellectual assent—it is active, living, and demonstrated through obedience.
It is not enough to know about God; we must walk with Him, trust Him, and live out His Word daily.

The Apostle John also reminds us:

“Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.” — 1 John 2:6

Living as Jesus did requires humility, surrender, and a heart fully yielded to God. It is not about how much we know but how much we love and obey.

🌿Focus More on Heart Preparation Than Head Presentation

God’s Glory Confounds Human Wisdom

The Apostle Paul declared:

“Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? …The world through its wisdom did not know Him..”
1 Corinthians 1:20–22

God is not impressed by charisma, degrees, or titles. He is moved by humility, obedience, and a heart that seeks Him.

The world’s wisdom cannot unlock heaven’s doors.

The doors of heaven do not open to intellectual keys—they open to humble, broken, contrite and obedient hearts.

🌿The Power of a Yielded Heart

A yielded heart is fertile ground for God’s revelation. The Psalmist reminds us:

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18

When we surrender our pride, our plans, and our intellect, we create space for God to move. It is in our weakness that His strength is made perfect:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

True spiritual growth begins when we stop striving in our own strength and start yielding to His Spirit.

✨ The Limitations of Human Wisdom — Real-World Reminders

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

God gives wisdom, but education gives intelligence. When you substitute human brilliance for spiritual revelation, you fall into the trap of trusting the flesh.

Let’s consider a few sobering truths:

  • A professor may teach ethics yet compromise his integrity for a bribe.
  • A president may lead nations yet fall into the oldest traps of pride and lust.
  • A billionaire may own everything but still cannot discern spiritual dangers.
  • A scientist may unlock the mysteries of the universe yet deny the Creator behind it.
  • A theologian may memorize scripture yet fail to live by its principles.
  • A celebrity may gain the world’s applause yet lose their soul in the process.
  • A pastor may preach powerful sermons yet harbor unforgiveness in their heart.
  • A prophet may speak many words of prophecy yet be possessed by demons.

Why?
Because intellect is not revelation.
Education is not discernment.
Degrees are not deliverance.

This is to remind us that without revelation, even the most privileged are vulnerable.

🌟 The Superiority of God’s Wisdom

“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” — 1 Corinthians 1:25

God’s wisdom transcends human understanding. It is not bound by logic, reason, or intellect. His ways are higher than our ways:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. — Isaiah 55:8

When we rely on God’s wisdom, we gain clarity, direction, and peace that surpasses all understanding.

⚔️ Satan Fears Revelation, Not Reputation

“Demons have no respect for your titles or positions.”

There is no amount of mental strength that can defeat satan. Intelligence does not cast out demons. A sharp memory cannot discern spirits. Head knowledge cannot overcome spiritual battles.

Only a yielded heart full of God’s Word can. The devil trembles when a believer walks in obedience and authority—because those are fruits of true revelation.

For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of words but of power. - 1Corinthians 4:20

Prophet TB Joshua says: > “The reward of our relationship with Jesus is Power”

“To the degree we reverence His word in our hearts — to that same degree will His power be released through us”

Once again Demons do not respect:

  • Your degrees,

  • Your accent,

  • Your social rank,

  • Your business card,

  • Or your presidential title.

You cannot cast out a demon with grammar. You cannot overcome darkness with IQ. They only respond or submit to spiritual authority through the name of Jesus Christ, which can only be developed by obedience, submission and relationship with God which brings revelational knowledge and Power.

This is why in the church today: -

  • A theologian may memorize scripture yet fail to live by its principles.

  • A pastor may preach powerful sermons yet harbor unforgiveness in their heart.

  • A prophet may speak many words of prophecy yet be possessed by demons.

  • Pastors may profess the name of Jesus in words but lack unity or true oneness.

  • Pastors preach about prosperity and sowing seeds more than love, faith and true salvation.

  • Pastors will rather have a member die of sickness in their church rather than have them visit a higher grace elsewhere.

🌿Head Knowledge Informs—But Revelation Transforms

  • Head knowledge makes you aware of God.

  • Revelation knowledge brings you into relationship with God.

  • One studies Him; the other obeys Him.

  • One argues about Him; the other follows Him.

Jesus Himself modeled this heart posture. Though He was fully God, He humbled Himself

“Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to His own advantage; rather, He made Himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant…”
Philippians 2:6–7

If the Son of God chose humility and obedience, how much more should we?

Let us follow His example, laying down our pride and embracing a heart of surrender.

🙏 The Role of Prayer in Revelation

Prayer is the key to unlocking divine wisdom. Through prayer, we align our hearts with God’s will and invite His Spirit to guide us:

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” — James 1:5

Make prayer a daily habit. Seek God’s counsel before making decisions, and trust Him to reveal His perfect plan for your life.

💡 Practical Steps to Embrace Revelation

  1. Humble Yourself
Acknowledge that your intellect is limited and submit to God’s infinite wisdom.

  2. Seek God’s Word
The Bible is the ultimate source of revelation. Meditate on it daily and let it transform your heart.

  3. Obey Promptings
When God speaks, act in faith and obedience. Revelation often comes through action.

  4. Surround Yourself with Godly Counsel
Fellowship with believers who walk in wisdom and discernment. Iron sharpens iron.

  5. Be Patient
Revelation unfolds in God’s timing, not ours. Trust the process and remain steadfast in faith.

By embracing these principles, you will experience the power of revelation and walk in the fullness of God’s purpose for your life.

🌿A Call to Action

Today, ask yourself:

  • Am I relying on my intellect or my intimacy with God?
  • Am I seeking knowledge about Him or a relationship with Him?
  • Am I preparing my heart to receive His revelation?

Take time to pray, repent, and refocus. Let your heart be the altar where God’s fire falls.

In your quiet time, don’t just reach for another book—reach for God.

Don’t just prepare sermons—prepare your soul.
Don’t just study His Word—surrender to it.

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9

God is looking for hearts—not resumes.
He is near to the contrite, the obedient, the pure in heart.

So today, don’t seek to learn about Him.
Seek to hear from Him.
Seek to walk with Him.
And ultimately, reflect Him.
