Those Who are Born From Above Long to be there

Luke 15:11–32, Joshua 23:14, Joshua 23:1–5, Deuteronomy 32:49, Genesis 25:5–6

  • Luke 15:11–32: The parable of the prodigal son, who wandered far from his father but was lovingly welcomed back.

  • Joshua 23:14: “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.”

  • Joshua 23:1–5: Joshua, aware of his nearing departure from the world, recounts God’s faithfulness to Israel.

  • Deuteronomy 32:49: God commands Moses to go up Mount Nebo to see the Promised Land before his death.

  • Genesis 25:5–6: Abraham prepared for his departure by giving his inheritance to Isaac and sending his other sons away.

God Uses Situations to Bring Us Back Home

Child of God, when you wander too far from your Heavenly Father, He often creates situations to bring you back home.

  • Luke 15:11–32: The prodigal son’s story is a perfect example. After leaving his father’s house and squandering his inheritance, he found himself in a desperate situation. But that situation became his helper, awakening his need for repentance and restoration.

Not all situations in life are bad. For a child of God, every situation has a purpose.

  • If you’ve neglected your relationship with God…

  • If you’ve relied on your own strength, intelligence, and connections rather than total dependence on God…

  • If you’ve gloated over achievements, titles, or material possessions at the expense of your salvation…

…then know this: God may allow a situation to redirect your focus, not to destroy you, but to bring you back into fellowship with Him.

Reflect on Your Priorities

Many times, we place our confidence in temporary things:

  • Our achievements and titles.

  • The praise of men.

  • Our connections and wealth.

We secretly hope that if we die, nice words at our funerals will somehow appease God, and we’ll be accepted into His kingdom. But that is a deception.

💡 Key Truth:
The life of a true Christian is not about worldly accolades or temporary success. It is about daily sacrifice and commitment to God.

God Will Rescue You Through Situations

If you are wandering away, God may allow a situation to shake you, redirect your steps, and remind you of what truly matters.

  • When you lose your way, He will send a helper—a trial, a challenge, or even a loss—to bring you back on track.

  • These moments are not to destroy you but to rescue you from further spiritual harm.

Don’t wait for a “more convenient time” to do what you’re supposed to do for God. Today is the day to repent and realign yourself with His will.

Life Is Temporary; Eternity Is Certain

  • Joshua 23:14 reminds us that everything on this earth—your parents, friends, network, and possessions—will fade away. But God’s promises are eternal.

  • Moses (Deuteronomy 32:49) and Abraham (Genesis 25:5–6) knew when their time on earth was drawing to a close, and they prepared for it.

  • Prophet T.B. Joshua said in his final words:
“A time to come here and a time to return home after service. Watch and Pray.”

Be Prepared for Your Heavenly Home

Child of God, those who are born from above know that their true home is not in this world. They long to return to the Father and spend their lives preparing for eternity.

  1. Live a Life of Daily Sacrifice:

    • Christianity is about consistent devotion to God. It’s not a one-time commitment but a daily walk of faith, obedience, and love.
  2. Maintain a Divine Relationship with God:

    • Without an intimate relationship with God, you cannot know His will or prepare for your eternal home.

    • John 10:27: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

  3. Watch and Pray:

    • Always remain spiritually vigilant and prayerful, knowing that your time on earth is temporary.

Key Takeaways

1️⃣ Not All Situations Are Bad:

  • If you wander from God, He may allow a challenge to draw you back to Him.

2️⃣ Earthly Things Are Temporary:

  • Your achievements, possessions, and relationships will fade. What matters is your relationship with God.

3️⃣ Prepare for Eternity:

  • Follow the example of God’s servants who lived with an eternal perspective, always aware of their heavenly home.

4️⃣ Divine Relationship Is Key:

  • Without a close relationship with God, you cannot know His plans for your life or be prepared for your eternal destination.

Prayer

🙏 Heavenly Father, I thank You for always drawing me back to You, even when I wander away. Forgive me for the times I have neglected my relationship with You and trusted in my own strength. Help me to live a life of daily sacrifice and commitment to You. Prepare my heart for eternity, and let me always long for my heavenly home. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Final Encouragement

Child of God, if you’ve strayed too far, know that God is lovingly calling you back. Don’t wait for a more convenient time. Respond to Him today. Live a life of faith, sacrifice, and commitment, and always keep eternity in your heart.
