Great Men Simply Have Great Habits?
Do You Know Changing Your Life Begins with Changing Your Habits?
Daniel 6:10, Psalm 119:164, Acts 20:7, Luke 7:36-end
The Foundation of Change: Daily Habits
You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. Habits, whether good or bad, shape the future you are building.
Take a moment to reflect and ask yourself:
“What am I doing daily that needs to change for me to develop great habits—habits that lead to success?”
The habits you form today will ultimately determine your future—whether it’s success or failure, fulfillment or frustration.
Habit: A Gift from God
Habit is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. Why? Because anything you do twice becomes easier. Through habits, we create consistency in our lives, and consistent actions bring results.
Let us take inspiration from Biblical characters whose habits shaped their destinies:
Jesus Christ: He stayed busy in His Father’s work—praying for the sick, teaching, ministering, and guiding His disciples. He modeled discipline and purpose in everything He did.
Daniel: He made it a habit to pray three times daily, even when facing threats to his life (Daniel 6:10). His consistency in prayer made him a man of great faith and wisdom.
The Psalmist: He declared, “Seven times a day I praise You for Your righteous laws” (Psalm 119:164). Praise and worship became the rhythm of his life.
The Disciples: They made a habit of meeting together every week on the first day (Acts 20:7), fostering fellowship and accountability.
Let Jesus Guide You to Better Habits
When Jesus enters our lives, He not only forgives our sins, but He also transforms us. He ends the cycle of bad habits and inspires new habits that lead to success, purpose, and fulfillment.
Take Luke 7:36-end, for example:
When Jesus entered the life of the prostitute, He ended her bad habits and gave her a new beginning. She went from a life of shame to a life of worship and devotion. Jesus is the ultimate guide for better habits.
Practical Steps to Build Godly Habits
Start Small:
Begin with one habit at a time. Consistency matters more than intensity. For example, set aside five minutes each morning to pray or read Scripture.Stay Accountable:
Like the disciples who met weekly, surround yourself with people who will encourage you and hold you accountable.Commit to Consistency:
As seen in Daniel’s life, habits are built through repetition. If you fall, get back up and keep going.Let the Holy Spirit Help You:
Ask the Holy Spirit for strength and guidance. Transformation comes not from our own strength but from God working in us.
Final Thought
Habits are powerful tools. When aligned with God’s will, they shape us into the person He created us to be. Let Jesus guide you to better habits, and watch as your life begins to change for the better, one day at a time.
Prayer
Father, teach me to develop great habits – habits that lead to success, in Jesus’ name.
