Good Health Secrets: Balancing Faith and Healthy Living
Good Health Secrets: Balancing Faith and Healthy Living
3 John 1:2, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Proverbs 17:22
Faith and Healthy Habits: A Divine Partnership
Dear friends, maintaining good health requires us to balance our faith (trust) in God with a commitment to healthy habits in the natural world. As believers, while we trust God for healing and well-being, it is essential to fulfill our responsibility by taking care of the bodies He has given us.
3 John 1:2 reminds us:
“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
Good health is a combination of spiritual and physical well-being. Ignoring the natural principles of health, such as proper nutrition, exercise, and rest, while focusing solely on the supernatural, can lead to preventable health issues.
The Importance of Physical Care
The Bible teaches us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Caring for our physical bodies is a form of worship and stewardship. While trusting God for divine health, we must not neglect our earthly responsibilities, such as:
Eating balanced meals.
Exercising regularly.
Drinking enough water.
Taking adequate rest.
Seeking medical advice when necessary.
For example, relying solely on the supernatural while ignoring the practical (like medical checkups or proper nutrition) can be considered unwise. Faith works hand in hand with action.
Daily Health Therapies
Here are some practical health tips inspired by Prophet T.B. Joshua that you can incorporate into your daily routine:
💧 Water Therapy
Drink 1.5 liters of water in the morning (on an empty stomach).
Drink 750 ml in the afternoon.
Drink 750 ml in the evening.
Staying hydrated helps to cleanse your body, improve digestion, and maintain energy levels throughout the day.
🍽 Food Therapy
Breakfast: Very light (e.g., fruit or tea).
Lunch: Heavy and balanced (this is your main meal).
Dinner: Very light, preferably early in the evening to allow your body to digest before bedtime.
A balanced diet is essential for energy, healing, and overall well-being.
🏃 Exercise Therapy
If you have access to a gym, use it regularly.
Engage in prayer walks—walk around nature while meditating on God’s Word in your heart.
Exercise is not just a physical activity but also an opportunity to connect with God. It reduces stress, strengthens your body, and sharpens your mind.
Faith and Rest: A Divine Principle
Faith and rest cannot be separated. Trusting God for your health means finding peace in His promises while taking practical steps to maintain your well-being. As Proverbs 17:22 says:
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
When you live by faith and combine it with practical habits like rest, exercise, and proper nutrition, you position yourself to enjoy the good health that God desires for you.
Personal Testimony and Encouragement
Personally, I have enjoyed great health by practicing these simple daily habits alongside my faith in God. The combination of faith and healthy living has made a significant difference in my life. I encourage you to adopt these habits too. Remember, this is your part to play while you trust God to keep you in good health.
Prayer
“Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of my body, a temple of Your Holy Spirit. Help me to balance my faith in You with a commitment to healthy living. Teach me to care for my body through rest, exercise, proper nutrition, and hydration, so I can live in good health to glorify You. Amen.”
