Why don’t you seek the Creator who can bring calmness to your lives?
Why Don’t You Seek the Creator Who Can Bring Calmness to Your Life?
Mark 4:39, Psalm 46:10, Matthew 6:33
The Storm of Life: Chasing After Created Things
Imagine a room with neatly arranged papers on a table. You open the windows for fresh air, but a strong breeze blows in, scattering the papers everywhere. You rush frantically, trying to catch each paper, yet the chaos only increases. Finally, you realize that the best solution is to close the window that caused the disturbance.
This scenario reflects the lives of many people today. Instead of seeking the Creator, we focus on chasing created things—wealth, fame, success, relationships, or material possessions—thinking they will bring peace to our lives. However, these things only create more chaos, frustration, and emptiness.
Jesus, the Calmer of Storms
In Mark 4:39, the disciples were overwhelmed by the storm and feared for their lives. In their panic, they turned to Jesus:
“He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the waves, ‘Quiet! Be still!’ Then the wind died down, and it was completely calm.”
Jesus did not run around panicking like the disciples. He simply closed the window of the storm with His divine authority.
The same Jesus who calmed the wind and waves is still alive today. He is the Creator who brings calmness and peace to every area of our lives when we call on Him.
Why Seek the Creator Instead of Created Things?
The Creator Has Power Over All Creation
Just as Jesus calmed the storm, He has authority over every aspect of your life—your finances, relationships, career, and health.
Psalm 46:10:
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Created Things Cannot Bring Lasting Peace
Material possessions, fame, or even human relationships may bring temporary satisfaction, but they cannot calm the storms of life.
Ecclesiastes 1:2:
“Meaningless! Meaningless! says the Teacher. Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”
The Creator Gives Perfect Calmness
Only God can provide the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Philippians 4:6-7:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
How to Seek the Creator
Call on Jesus
- Just as the disciples turned to Jesus in their storm, call on Him in prayer. He is always ready to help.
Meditate on His Word
- Spend time reading and meditating on Scripture to align your heart and mind with God’s promises.
Prioritize God in Your Life
- Matthew 6:33:
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
- Matthew 6:33:
Trust in God’s Authority
- Believe that God has the power to calm any storm in your life. Rest in His sovereignty and goodness.
Declare Calmness Over Your Life
- Use the authority given to you as a believer to speak calmness over every area of your life.
A Declaration of Calmness
Now, begin to speak calmness into every area of your life:
“I decree calmness in my business, finances, family, marriage, career, health, and relationships in Jesus’ name. I trust in the Creator who has authority over every storm in my life. Lord Jesus, thank You for bringing peace and calmness into my life. Amen.”
Final Encouragement
Stop chasing created things and turn to the Creator who alone can bring peace and calmness into your life. Remember, no storm is too big for Jesus to calm, and no situation is beyond His control.
Trust in Him, speak calmness over your life, and let the peace of God reign in your heart.
