Why Wait for a More Convenient Time That May Never Come?

The Certainty of Life and Death
The certainty of death should deeply affect how you live today. Life is fleeting, and none of us knows what tomorrow will bring. Why wait for a more convenient time to serve God when that time may never come?
God is your source—acknowledge Him today. Don’t let distractions, procrastination, or the pursuit of worldly things take your loyalty, mind, or time away from Him.
Matthew 6:33 reminds us:
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
The Cost of Waiting
Missed Opportunities
Many people carry unshared ideas, unexecuted plans, and unfulfilled purposes because they waited for a more “convenient time.”
Today’s idleness will result in tomorrow’s emptiness. What are you doing today that will matter for eternity?
Procrastination is a Thief
- Procrastination robs you of the opportunity to act. James 4:14 says:
“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

- Your decision to act now, for God’s glory, can change lives. Waiting for “someday” may result in missed chances to bring others to Christ or fulfill God’s purpose in your life.
Be Involved in God’s Work Today
God’s work is not something to delay or put off for later. He calls us to act with Him and for Him now. Jeremiah 33:3 says:
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Here’s how you can get involved in God’s work today:
Be a Roadmap for the Lost
- Help guide those who have lost their way. Point them to Jesus, the ultimate roadmap to salvation.
Be a Companion to the Lonely
- Many people are lonely and in need of love. Show kindness, offer companionship, and reflect God’s love to them.
Be a Torchbearer in Darkness
- Be a light to those in spiritual darkness. Share the truth of the gospel with boldness and compassion. Matthew 5:14:
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

God Has No Hands But Yours
God has chosen to work through us to accomplish His purposes. You are His vessel on earth.
He has no hands but yours to do His work. Use your hands to serve, to build, and to give.
He has no mouth but yours to share His love. Tell others about His sacrifice and how He died to save them.
He has no house but your body. Your body is His temple, where He dwells.
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
Make the Right Choice Today
Your actions today determine your future. Choose to act now:
Get involved in God’s projects.
Serve others with love and compassion.
Dedicate your time, resources, and energy to fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.
Don’t wait for the perfect time to act—God wants to use you now!
A Prayer to Act Today
“Lord Jesus, I surrender my time, my heart, and my life to You today. Help me to stop waiting for a convenient time and to act now in obedience to Your Word. Use my hands to serve, my mouth to share Your love, and my body as Your temple. Teach me to seek first Your Kingdom and to make choices that glorify You. Thank You for the privilege of being part of Your work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
