What Did God Really Create First?
🔥 THE FIRST CREATION OF GOD: WISDOM BEFORE THE WORLD
“Before the heavens were formed, wisdom was already standing beside God.”
📖 KEY SCRIPTURES
“In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1
“The Lord formed me from the beginning, before He created anything else.” — Proverbs 8:22 (NLT)
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.” — Proverbs 8:17
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33
🌿 1. THE MYSTERY BEYOND GENESIS 1:1
🌌 Introduction: What Really Came First?
Ask any believer, “What was the first thing God created?”
The most common answer?
> “Simple! In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1
But let us look deeper.
Before the visible came into being, the invisible was already present. Before heaven was shaped, and before earth was formed, something eternal, divine, and indispensable was birthed from the very heart of God Himself.
That something is Wisdom.
Wisdom is older than creation.
Wisdom is the blueprint behind everything God made.
💎 2. WISDOM: God’s First and Oldest Creation
Let’s enter the mystery revealed in Proverbs 8:22–31, where Wisdom speaks as a living presence:
> “The Lord formed me from the beginning, before He created anything else… I was the architect at His side.”
Here, Wisdom is personified—not as an abstract idea, but as a pre-existent reality—a co-laborer with God.
Wisdom is older than heaven.
Before angels sang, Wisdom stood.
Before the sea had boundaries, Wisdom drew the lines.
Before creation became creation, Wisdom stood beside God as:
- The Architect
- The Blueprint
- The Divine Strategy
- The Master Craftsman (Proverbs 8:30)
Wisdom is not Intelligence.
> “Wisdom originates from God. Intelligence originates from man.”
Wisdom is not discovered by IQ. Wisdom is revealed by relationship.
🔥 3. How Do You Get Wisdom?
If wisdom originates from God, we must follow His pathway to obtain it.
Jesus said:
> “Knock, and the door will be opened to you.” — Matthew 7:7
> “To everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” — Matthew 7:8
The key word is door.
But which door was Jesus referring to?
Most people assume it is:
- A door of blessing
- A door of prosperity
- A door of breakthrough
- A door of opportunity
But Jesus never said it was the door to your desires.
There is only one door that controls all doors…
🕊️ The Door of Wisdom.
And Prophet TB Joshua gives us the key:
> “God will not open the door of wisdom to anyone who keeps his Bible shut.”
Wisdom is not wished for.
Wisdom is not stumbled upon.
Wisdom is discovered through seeking.
Just as you cannot receive water from a sealed well, you cannot receive wisdom from a closed Bible.
🕊️ 4. Wisdom Requires Pursuit — Not Passivity
“I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.” — Proverbs 8:17
Notice the verbs used in the Bible:
- SEARCH → Proverbs 8:17
- SEEK → Matthew 6:33
- KNOCK → Matthew 7:7
These are actions — steps — movements.
Search. Seek. Knock.
These are all action verbs—they imply persistence, pursuit, and prayer.
Wisdom is not for the lazy or the casual.
Wisdom rewards those who press deeper.
Heaven is not hiding Wisdom from you.
Heaven is hiding Wisdom for you.
And only the seeker will find.
- 📌 Seeking is an action.
- 📌 Seeking produces discovery.
- 📌 Discovery produces transformation.
Jesus confirms this:
> “Seek first the Kingdom of God… and all these things shall be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33
When you seek the Kingdom, you are seeking the mind of God.
And the mind of God is clothed with Wisdom.
- 📌 Seek Wisdom first, and power will follow.
- 📌 Seek Wisdom first, and provision will pursue you.
- 📌 Seek Wisdom first, and revelation will flow.
📖 5. How the Bible Opens the Door of Wisdom
Your Bible is the Map — Your Heart is the Key.
If you want the door of Wisdom to open: - Search the Scriptures daily.
- Seek God earnestly.
- Knock consistently on the door of divine truth.
Don’t just desire revelation. Desire transformation.
“Those who search will surely find me.” — Proverbs 8:17
Reading the Bible is not just for information—it is for revelation.
Every verse you meditate upon opens up a new layer of divine Wisdom.
“If you read your Bible daily, you will receive the key to open many doors of heaven.”
One of the greatest of these is the door of Wisdom.
- The more you search the Word, the more the Word searches you.
- And when the Word finds your heart ready—Wisdom enters.
📖 6. Wisdom is a Full Package
“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion.” — Proverbs 8:12
This means wisdom is not one gift —
Wisdom is a package.
Inside wisdom, you find:
- 🎯 Good judgment
- 🔍 Discernment
- 📘 Knowledge
- 🧭 Sound decision-making
Wisdom is God’s intelligence system installed into man.
Without wisdom, you cannot handle breakthrough.
Without wisdom, you cannot sustain anointing.
Without wisdom, you cannot interpret revelation.
Without wisdom, you cannot govern your destiny.
💎 Intelligence vs. Wisdom: Don’t Confuse Them
You can earn intelligence in school—but Wisdom comes from the Spirit.
A man may be a professor and still live foolishly. Another may be unlettered but walk in deep divine understanding.
Why?
Because Wisdom is from above, and it comes by revelation, not education.
“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom.” — 1 Corinthians 1:25
In the spiritual realm: - Wisdom is higher than prophecy
- Deeper than revelation
- More vital than intellect
Wisdom precedes revelation.
Wisdom interprets revelation.
Wisdom sustains revelation.
✝️ 7. Why Wisdom Matters More Than Anything Else You Seek
You can gain money — without wisdom, it will ruin you.
You can gain influence — without wisdom, pride will destroy you.
You can gain revelation — without wisdom, you will misinterpret it.
You can gain spiritual gifts — without wisdom, those gifts will crush you.
This is why Solomon did not ask for:
- Wealth
- Long life
- Fame
- Promotion
He asked for WISDOM.
And God responded:
> “Because you have asked for this… I will also give you riches and honor…” — 1 Kings 3:11–13
Everything people chase will naturally follow the person who chases wisdom.
🙏 FINAL CHARGE: BEFRIEND WISDOM. FIND GOD.
Wisdom is not a concept.
Wisdom is not a sermon.
Wisdom is a person—Jesus, the Word of God.
“Christ… the power of God and the wisdom of God.” — 1 Corinthians 1:24
To pursue Wisdom is to pursue the very heart of Christ.
To walk with Wisdom is to walk before creation itself.
To gain Wisdom is to receive the first gift God ever gave the universe.
- Knock — Not for things, but for light.
- Seek — Not for fame, but for truth.
- Read — Not to finish, but to find Him.
If God began with wisdom, your life must begin and continue with wisdom.
🙏 PRAYER
Lord Jesus, give me a heart that hungers for wisdom.
Open my eyes to the treasures hidden in Your Word.
Grant me the discipline to seek, the humility to learn,
and the grace to walk in divine wisdom daily.
Let wisdom govern my decisions, my desires, and my destiny.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
