Figure 1: How To Perfect Your Faith? - SpiritWorshipGen

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”

— Romans 10:17

Many Christians ask, “How do I grow in faith?” The answer is both simple and profound: Faith begins by hearing the Word, but it is perfected when you act on it.

Senior Prophet TB Joshua taught that:

“Faith is perfected by our acting on the Word.”

In other words, faith is not complete until you act on the Word. You may believe in God’s Word, but until that Word dominates your heart and translates into action, faith remains unfruitful.

True Faith comes by hearing and obeying God’s Word.

What Does It Mean for the Word to Dominate Your Heart?

“…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…”

— Ephesians 3:17

When God’s Word dominates your heart, it:

  • Shapes your thoughts
  • Governs your emotions
  • Guides your responses
  • Forms your confession
  • Rules your decisions

Prophet TB Joshua explained:

“When you let the Word have right of way in your life, you are letting Christ have right of way.”

The Word starts in the mind, but it must sink deeper through meditation. Meditation is what transfers the Word from your memory (mind) into your spirit (heart)—from knowledge to transformation. That is, the Word becomes an integral part of you.

Why Many Believe but Struggle to Act

✍️ You cannot act on a Word that has not dominated your heart.
✍️ You cannot speak with authority from a heart that is empty.
✍️ You cannot command darkness with a heart not saturated with light.

This is why so many Christians believe the promises of God, yet fail to live by them. This happens because the Word has not yet taken root. For faith to flourish, the Word must gain supremacy over your thoughts, desires, and decisions.

How Do We Act on God’s Word?

Acting on God’s Word is not just about good behavior—it is about alignment with Christ. When you act on the Word, you become one with it.

Acting on the word, makes the word gain supremacy over you, rule you and influence your conduct and your character.

If the word does not dominate your heart, you cannot have faith.

When you take the word of God to heart and truly make it a part of you, it will by its very nature change you and when it does, you will find yourself called to act.

“When you act on God’s word, you are acting in unison with Him. That is, you and Him are lifting the load together.”— TB Joshua

You are not alone. He is the greater part of the union.

This unity is where true power lies. You’re not alone in obedience—you are joined with Jesus Himself.

Letting the Word Have Right of Way

To act on God’s Word is to let the Word have right of way in your life. – Ephesians 3:17

To let God’s Word have right of way means:

  • It corrects you when your feelings are wrong.
  • It overrides your logic when it doesn’t align with heaven.
  • It compels obedience when flesh resists.

TB Joshua emphasized:

“When you let the Word have right of way in your life, you are letting Christ have right of way. It is not only committing the Word to memory which is valuable but letting the Word become an integral part of your being.”

How to Let the Word Dominate Your Heart

A. Read It Daily

Feed your spirit consistently. Don’t just memorize—absorb it in your heart by meditation. Turn it over and over in your heart.

Make it a daily habit to read the Word of God, even if it’s just a few verses. Consistency is key. Approach the Word with reverence and expectation, asking the Holy Spirit to illuminate the scriptures and reveal deeper truths.

“The more you read the Word, the more you discover who you are in Christ and what He has done for you.” — TB Joshua

Reading the Word daily is like planting seeds in the soil of your heart. Over time, these seeds will grow and bear fruit, transforming your life from the inside out. Remember, the Word is not just a book—it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Let it penetrate your heart and renew your mind.

B. Meditate Until It Enters Your Heart

Let the Word roll over in your mind until it takes root in your spirit. Meditation moves the Word from your mind to your spirit.

Meditation is not just reading—it is pondering, reflecting, and personalizing the Word. It is the process of internalizing scripture until it becomes part of your very being. When you meditate, you allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Word, revealing its deeper meaning and application to your life.

To meditate effectively:

  1. Choose a Scripture Passage: Select a verse or passage that speaks to your current situation or spiritual need.
  2. Read It Slowly, Repeatedly and Attentively: Read it multiple times, Read it Slowly and Attentively to discover the hidden treasures within.
  3. Visualize It: Picture the scene, reflect on it and let the Holy Spirit guide your thoughts as you read.
  4. Personalize It: Replace the pronouns or subjects with your name to make the Word personal to you.
  5. Speak It Out Loud: Declare the scripture audibly, letting it resonate in your spirit.
  6. Pray Through It: Turn the scripture into a prayer, asking God to make it real in your life. “Scriptural prayer releases God’s power”

“Meditation is the process of digesting the Word until it becomes part of you. It is the bridge between hearing and doing.” — TB Joshua

Through meditation, the Word transitions from mere knowledge to revelation. It becomes alive and active, transforming your thoughts, renewing your mind, and aligning your heart with God’s will. This is where true spiritual growth begins.

C. Obey the Word. Live by the Word.

Revelation grows through obedience. The more you act on the Word, the more alive it becomes in you.

“Spiritual growth is a function of obedience”— Prophet TB Joshua.

Obedience is the bridge between hearing and transformation. It is not enough to hear or even understand the Word; you must live it out in your daily life. Obedience is the practical expression of faith—it is faith in action. When you obey the Word, you align your life with God’s will, allowing His power to work through you.

Why Obedience Matters

  • It Demonstrates Faith: Obedience is the evidence of genuine faith. As James 2:26 says, “Faith without works is dead.”
  • It Unlocks Blessings: Many of God’s promises are conditional upon obedience. Deuteronomy 28 outlines the blessings that follow those who diligently obey the Lord.
  • It Strengthens Your Relationship with God: Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Obedience is an act of love and devotion.

The Reward of Obedience

When you obey the Word, you experience the joy and peace that come from walking in alignment with God’s will. Obedience opens the door to deeper intimacy with God, greater spiritual authority, and the fulfillment of His promises in your life. As Prophet TB Joshua said, “Obedience is the only proof of your faith in God.”

Remember, obedience is not about perfection but about a willing heart. God honors your efforts and meets you where you are. Take the first step today, and watch how God transforms your life through the power of His Word.

D. Confess It Boldly

Your confession reinforces your conviction. Confession is not just speaking words—it is declaring what you believe in your heart with boldness and authority.

“There is power in my mouth. The belief in my heart is released by faith, out of my mouth.” — TB Joshua

Confession is a spiritual principle that aligns your words with God’s Word. When you confess the Word, you activate its power in your life. It is through confession that you release faith, overcome doubt, and silence the lies of the enemy.

Why Confession Matters

  1. It Strengthens Your Faith: Faith grows stronger when you hear yourself declare the truth of God’s Word. As Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
  2. It Aligns Your Words with God’s Will: Confession ensures that your speech reflects God’s promises rather than your circumstances.
  3. It Releases Spiritual Authority: Your words carry power. When you confess the Word, you exercise the authority given to you in Christ to speak life, healing, and victory into your situation.

How to Confess the Word Effectively

  1. Speak with Conviction: Believe in your heart that what you are saying is true. Your confession must come from a place of faith, not doubt.
  2. Personalize the Scripture: Replace general pronouns with your name to make the Word personal. For example, instead of saying, “The Lord is my shepherd,” say, “The Lord is [Your Name]’s shepherd.”
  3. Be Consistent: Make confession a daily habit. Speak the Word over your life, family, and circumstances regularly.
  4. Declare with Boldness: Don’t whisper your confession—speak it boldly and with authority, knowing that God’s Word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11).
  5. Combine Confession with Prayer: Turn your confession into a prayer, thanking God for His promises and asking Him to bring them to fulfillment in your life.

Examples of Bold Confessions

  • “I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me (Romans 8:37).”
  • “No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment I shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).”
  • “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).”
  • “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (Psalm 23:1).”
  • “By His stripes, I am healed (Isaiah 53:5).”

The Power of Confession

Confession is not about denying reality but about declaring a higher truth. It is about speaking God’s promises over your life until they become your reality. As you confess the Word, you align your thoughts, emotions, and actions with God’s will, creating an atmosphere of faith that invites His power to work in your life.

“Your confession gives you possession. What you say is what you become.” — TB Joshua

Let your confession be a reflection of your faith. Speak life, speak truth, and watch as God’s Word transforms your circumstances and strengthens your spirit.

E. Let the Word Correct You

Correction is the doorway to growth. If you resist correction, you resist revelation.

“Correction makes future possible.” — TB Joshua

The Word of God is like a mirror—it reveals not only who you are but also who you are called to be. When you approach the Word with humility, it exposes areas in your life that need alignment with God’s will. Correction is not condemnation; it is an act of love from a Father who desires the best for His children.

Why Correction is Essential

  1. It Refines Your Character: Correction helps you shed habits, attitudes, and behaviors that hinder your spiritual growth.
  2. It Aligns You with God’s Will: Through correction, the Word redirects your path, ensuring you walk in obedience to God’s plan.
  3. It Prepares You for Greater Responsibility: God corrects those He loves to prepare them for the next level of their calling.

How to Embrace Correction

  1. Approach the Word with Humility: Be willing to admit when you are wrong and open to change.
  2. Ask the Holy Spirit for Conviction: The Holy Spirit gently convicts, guiding you toward repentance and transformation.
  3. Respond with Obedience: When the Word corrects you, act on it immediately. Delayed obedience is disobedience.
  4. Learn from Mistakes: View correction as an opportunity to grow, not as a failure.

The Blessing of Correction

Correction may be uncomfortable, but it leads to peace and righteousness.

As Hebrews 12:11 says, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

When you allow the Word to correct you, you position yourself to receive God’s best. Embrace correction as a gift, knowing that it is shaping you into the image of Christ.

F. Practice What You Read

Faith increases as obedience increases. Your capacity to believe grows as you feed your spirit with truth.

“Your capacity to believe can either increase or decrease depending on how much you feed your soul with the Word of God”— TB Joshua.

Practicing what you read is the ultimate test of faith. It is not enough to hear or even understand the Word; you must put it into action. The Bible is filled with instructions, principles, and promises that are meant to be lived out. When you practice the Word, you demonstrate your trust in God and allow His power to work through you.

Why Practice Matters

  1. It Strengthens Your Faith: Faith is like a muscle—it grows stronger with use. The more you act on the Word, the more confident you become in God’s promises.
  2. It Brings Revelation: Obedience unlocks deeper understanding. As you practice the Word, the Holy Spirit reveals new insights and truths that you may not have seen before.
  3. It Transforms Your Life: The Word is not just information; it is transformation. When you live by the Word, it changes your character, renews your mind, and aligns your life with God’s will.

How to Practice the Word

  1. Start Small: Begin with one principle or instruction from the Word and commit to applying it in your daily life. For example, if the Word says to forgive, start by forgiving someone who has wronged you.
  2. Be Consistent: Faithful practice leads to lasting change. Make obedience a daily habit, not a one-time event.
  3. Rely on the Holy Spirit: You cannot practice the Word in your own strength. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you and guide you as you seek to live out God’s truth.
  4. Reflect and Adjust: Regularly evaluate your actions and attitudes in light of the Word. Be willing to make changes as the Holy Spirit convicts and corrects you.

Examples of Practicing the Word

  • Love Your Neighbor: Show kindness and compassion to those around you, even when it is difficult.
  • Speak Life: Use your words to encourage, build up, and bless others, rather than to criticize or tear down.
  • Trust God in Trials: When faced with challenges, choose to stand on God’s promises rather than giving in to fear or doubt.
  • Give Generously: Share your resources with those in need, trusting that God will provide for you.

The Reward of Practice

When you practice the Word, you experience the blessings of obedience.

James 1:22-25 says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

Practicing the Word leads to freedom, joy, and fulfillment. It deepens your relationship with God and allows His power to flow through you. As you take steps of faith, you will see His promises come to life in your circumstances.

“Faith is not a passive belief; it is an active response to God’s Word. When you practice the Word, you are putting your faith into action.” — TB Joshua

Let your life be a reflection of the Word. Practice what you read, and watch as God transforms you from the inside out.

A Prayer for Saturated Faith

Lord Jesus, saturate my heart with Your Word.
Let Your Word rule my thoughts, desires, and decisions.
Give me a heart that obeys quickly and trusts deeply.
Let Your Word dominate me until faith becomes my lifestyle.
Fill my spirit so that the name of Jesus flows with authority from my lips.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
