The Resurrection Power of God
The Blinding Light of God’s Face: Resurrection Power
“As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?’”
— Acts 9:3–4 (NLT)
🔥 What Pushed Saul to the Ground?
The encounter Saul had on the road to Damascus was no ordinary interruption. It was a divine invasion. A blinding light from heaven surrounded him—not just a flash, but the manifestation of Resurrection Power radiating from the face of the risen Christ.
This light was the very glory of God—what Prophet T.B. Joshua described as “the lightning of God,” an unapproachable holiness that emanates from the face of our Lord.
Psalm 44:3 supports this:
“They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was Your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from Your face that helped them, for You loved them.”
— Psalm 44:3 (NLT)
Saul didn’t fall because of guilt or fear. He fell because no flesh can stand before such holiness.
🌿 Why the Light?
1. It Reveals God’s Holiness
God’s light is not for decoration—it is a revelation of His unapproachable purity. Like the sun, which we cannot look at directly, God’s glory cannot be stared into without consequences.
“…who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see.”
— 1 Timothy 6:16 (NIV)
2. It Exposes Darkness
When that light shines, it confronts everything unlike God—sin, pride, rebellion. It pierced through Saul’s mission and exposed the heart behind it.
“Why are you persecuting me?”
— Acts 9:4
He wasn’t just persecuting people—he was opposing Jesus Himself.
3. It Brings Transformation
That same light that blinded Saul physically opened his spiritual eyes. He rose from the ground changed forever—from Saul the persecutor to Paul the apostle.
“And immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again.”
— Acts 9:18 (NIV)
🌿 The Mystery of Irresistible Movement
This light was not just a vision—it had power. During the ministry of Prophet T.B. Joshua, many testified of falling under the anointing during prayer, even with eyes closed. It wasn’t emotionalism. It was irresistible resurrection power moving in the room.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11) now radiates from His face and nothing fleshly can withstand it.
🌿 Jesus: The Light of Life
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
— John 8:12 (NIV)
This is not metaphorical light. It is the substance of life itself—the light that heals, delivers, resurrects, and transforms.
It’s the light that walked into Saul’s rebellion and turned it into a divine calling.
🌿 Why Do People Fall?
Many wonder: Why do people fall when touched by the Spirit?
Because human strength cannot coexist with divine holiness.
Because when the resurrection light shines, it humbles pride, silences rebellion, and commands surrender.
Falling is not weakness—it is the response of flesh to divine overpowering.
🌿 Final Exhortation
Child of God, seek that light—not the fading glow of worldly fame or intellectual knowledge, but the eternal glory that flows from the face of Jesus.
This light:
- Pushes down your flesh so your spirit can rise
- Blinds your natural eyes so your spiritual eyes can open
- Breaks your pride so Christ’s life can fill you
Like Saul, when the light of Jesus shines on you, you will never be the same.
🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus, shine Your light on me today. Blind me to sin, self, and pride. Open my spirit to see You clearly. Let the resurrection power that transformed Saul transform me into a vessel of Your glory. Amen.
