Figure 1: When Evil prosper: What Should You do? - SpiritWorshipGen

🌿 “Don’t Worry About Evil People Who Prosper”

“Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away.”
Psalm 37:1–2

“Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” — Psalm 37:7

🌱 Prosperity Is Not Exclusive

In today’s world, prosperity is often misunderstood as a divine stamp of approval. Prosperity is not a proof of righteousness. Many assume that because someone is successful, they must be doing something right in God’s eyes. But Scripture warns us: do not envy the prosperity of the wicked.

“Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”
Psalm 37:7

Yes, the wicked prosper — sometimes abundantly. But their prosperity is fleeting. It fades like spring flowers. It withers like grass. What looks like abundance now may be laced with sorrow underneath.

The truth is: prosperity is not proof of God’s approval.

🌿 Why Shouldn’t I Compare Myself?

Comparison breeds discouragement. It creates unnecessary anxiety, envy, and anger. Comparison can corrode your joy. When we look sideways instead of upward, we invite anxiety, envy, and bitterness into our hearts.

“Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm.”
Psalm 37:8

God isn’t asking us to ignore injustice or evil — He’s inviting us to trust Him. Even when it seems like others are getting ahead, God’s justice is never late. Your reward may not look like theirs, but it will be eternal, lasting, and rooted in peace.

🌱 The Danger of Envy

When we compare ourselves with the ungodly, frustration, bitterness, and envy begin to grow in our hearts. Scripture warns:

“Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm.” — Psalm 37:8

Remember Prophet T.B. Joshua taught:

“It is better to live poorly upon the fruits of God’s goodness than live plentifully upon the products of our own sin.”

Envy not only distracts us from God, it harms us spiritually by choking gratitude and replacing it with doubt.

🌿 God Knows How to Care for His Own

“It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich.”
Psalm 37:16

What a radical statement in today’s culture!

This isn’t poetry — it’s a promise. God doesn’t measure success the way the world does. A little, when blessed by God, is better than abundance born in sin.

As Prophet TB Joshua once said:

“It is better to live poorly upon the fruits of God’s goodness than live plentifully upon the products of our own sin.”

Let that truth reshape your values.

🌿 What Should I Focus On Instead?

“Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.”
Psalm 37:3

“Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart’s desires.”
Psalm 37:4

  • Commit everything to Him.
Your plans, dreams, and burdens must be laid at His feet.
  • Trust Him to act.
God never fails to help those who depend fully on Him.

Your job is not to calculate the wealth of the wicked. Your role is not to analyze or envy others. Your role is to trust, do good, delight, and commit your ways to God.

When you do that:

  • You gain clarity in your purpose.
  • You stay rooted in peace.
  • You build lasting prosperity that cannot be stolen — not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually.

🌿 Hold On to What the World Cannot See

Even if your blessings seem small or what you have seems modest… Even if your harvest comes slowly… Even if your name is not in lights…

Hold on.

God sees. God knows. God rewards.

“The LORD takes care of the godly.”
Psalm 37:17

His hand is not short. His timing is perfect. His eyes are on you.

🌿 Finally People of God

When you see the wicked prosper, remember:

  • Their wealth is temporary.

  • Your peace in Christ is eternal.

  • God Himself will take care of you.

Therefore, live with gratitude for His daily provision. Celebrate His grace in your life, no matter how small it looks before men.

As Prophet TB Joshua often said:

“Focus on what God has done in your life, and you will see that the best is yet to come.”

Take your eyes off their success and fix your heart on your Savior.

Don’t chase what they have — chase the One who gives all things richly to enjoy.

Let your prayer be:

“Lord, help me to value Your presence more than their possessions. Help me to rejoice in what I have and trust You for what I need.”
