🐍 The First Strategy of Satan

“Did God really say…?” — Genesis 3:1

This was the serpent’s first recorded strategy. And it’s still his most effective.
Before Eve fell, she questioned.

Satan didn’t attack Eve with a sword.
He didn’t use fear, force, or physical pressure.
He simply planted a doubt in her mind.

And that’s all he needs today—just one well-placed “Did God really say?”

🔥 The Modern Echoes of Eden

Today, satan doesn’t always speak through snakes—he speaks through culture, friends, social media, trending opinions, and even religious voices. And the question is still the same:

💬 “Did God really say…?”

Let’s bring it home with some modern-day versions:

  • “Did God really say you should wait until marriage?”
    “It’s 2025. Times have changed!”

  • “Did God really say forgive those who hurt you?”
    “They don’t deserve your forgiveness.”

  • “Did God really say tithe and be generous?”
“The church just wants your money.”

  • “Did God really say pray without ceasing?”
    “You’re too busy. God understands.”

  • “Did God really say homosexuality is a sin?”
“Love is love. God wouldn’t judge that.”

  • “Did God really say you shouldn’t cheat on your taxes?”
    “The government is corrupt anyway.”

  • “Did God really say honor your parents?”
“They were abusive. They don’t deserve it.”

  • “Did God really say keep your heart pure?”
“A little adult content won’t hurt.”

  • “Did God really say alchohol is bad?”
“Jesus turned water into wine—it’s not that deep.”

The enemy’s tactic remains the same—question the instruction, contaminate the heart, derail the purpose.

💣 What Happens When You Entertain the Doubt?

If satan can get you to question God’s Word,
he can get you to violate it.
And once you violate it,
you step out of covering—and into captivity.

Eve didn’t fall until she listened to the wrong voice.
Adam didn’t fall until he obeyed the wrong instruction.
And you won’t fall—until you start negotiating God’s truth.

👑 What Makes You Dangerous to Hell?

Satan is not threatened by your church attendance.
He is not shaken by your spiritual title (Bishop, Apostle, Prophet etc).
He is not impressed by your speaking in tongues and shouting seven hallelujah.

What terrifies hell is this:
A believer who obeys God fully—when it’s costly, uncomfortable, and unpopular.

💪 You Can’t Walk in Power Without Obedience

Want authority in the spirit?
Desire God’s fire?
Yearn for discernment, revelation, boldness, and victory?

Then obey.

“To obey is better than sacrifice.” —1 Samuel 15:22
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” —John 14:15
“Be doers of the Word, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” —James 1:22

Obedience is proof of love.

Obedience is your weapon.
Obedience is your spiritual safety.

🙏 Final Exhortation

Beloved, the next time you hear that subtle voice asking:

“Did God really say…?”

You must respond like Jesus did:

“It is written.”

“I live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” —Matthew 4:4

Let the Word be your anchor, your compass, and your shield.

Obey when it’s hard.
Obey when it’s costly.
Obey when it’s unpopular.
Obey because God said it—and that settles it.

🛐 A Prayer for a Heart of Obedience

“Holy Spirit, give me a heart that trusts and obeys without questioning Your voice.
Deliver me from cultural confusion, popular deception, and spiritual compromise.
Let me not entertain what You have rejected.
Give me discernment to recognize the serpent’s voice, and grace to say YES to Your will—even when it costs me.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
