The Secret Behind Divine Success, Favour & Spiritual Authority

Figure 1: The LORD Was With Him - SpiritWorshipGen

“So the LORD was with him…”

This simple yet powerful phrase is one of the most important statements in Scripture. It’s not about how skilled, popular, or wealthy a person is—but whether the Lord is with them.

“For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7

Many say with their mouths, “God is with me,” but the real question is:
👉 Is God truly with you?
👉 How do you know when the LORD is with you?
👉 How would others know that the LORD is with you?

✨Signs That God Is Truly With You

When the LORD is with you:

  • You succeed in all you do—not by might or connections but by divine favour.

  • You carry God’s presence, and others can discern it.

  • Your steps are ordered, and even your trials produce glory.

  • You do not need to fight for recognition; His presence advertises you.

Let’s examine Biblical examples of individuals where Scripture records: “The LORD was with him.”

📖 Biblical Examples of God’s Presence in a Person’s Life

1. Joseph – Divine Prosperity in Adversity

“The LORD was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master.”
Genesis 39:2
Even as a slave and later a prisoner, God’s presence brought Joseph favor and made everything he touched prosper.
“But the LORD was with Joseph… and gave him success in whatever he did.” (Genesis 39:21–23)

2. David – Visible Favor and Victory

“David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the LORD was with him.”
1 Samuel 18:14
David was still a young man, not yet a king, yet Saul feared him because God’s presence brought visible success and victory.
He walked in boldness, favor, and wisdom beyond his age.

3. Hezekiah – A King Like No Other

“He remained faithful… So the LORD was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did.”
2 Kings 18:6–7
Unlike other kings, Hezekiah was distinguished not by might, but by intimacy and obedience to God. His success was divine, not political.

4. Samuel – A Prophet of Integrity and Honor

“The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and He let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.”
1 Samuel 3:19
God’s presence validated Samuel’s words, and he became a prophet whose reputation was founded in truth and righteousness.
He would later say: “Whose ox have I taken?” (1 Samuel 12:3–5). Even his enemies respected him.

5. Jesus Christ – The Ultimate Example

“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and he went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38
Even though Jesus was God in the flesh, He modelled submission to the Father and moved in divine presence. God with Him meant miracles, deliverance, and salvation followed wherever He went.

6. Prophet T.B. Joshua – A Vessel of the Holy Spirit

TB Joshua’s life reveals the reality of God’s presence in a man.

“I saw a hand that pointed a Bible to my heart… I heard a voice saying, ‘I am your God… I am giving you a divine commission… I will reveal Myself through you in teaching, preaching, miracles, signs, and wonders…’”

He operated in all nine gifts of the Spirit—healing the sick, delivering the oppressed, teaching deeply with simplicity, and living a life of quiet humility. His impact transcends generations because God was truly with him.

✨What Happens When God Is With You?

  • Ordinary moments become divine assignments.

  • Your words carry spiritual weight. (1 Samuel 3:19)

  • You are led, not by ambition, but by the Spirit.

  • Your pain turns into promotion. (Joseph in Egypt)

  • You are not just successful—you have good success (Joshua 1:8)

  • Even your enemies respect you. (David and Saul)

  • You walk in clarity, purity, and power.

  • You become a standard of faith for others to follow.

🧭 How Can I Know God Is With Me?

Here are 5 simple checks:

  1. Are you walking in obedience?

*“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”* – John 14:15

  2. Is your heart humble and repentant?

*“God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”* – James 4:6

  3. Is your prayer life active and sincere?

Prayer builds **intimacy**, and where intimacy thrives, God dwells.

  4. Is your fruit visible?

*“By their fruit, you shall know them.”* – Matthew 7:20\ Love, peace, joy, patience—these are not titles but the signs of God’s Spirit.

  5. Are your steps being ordered supernaturally?

Doors open where they should be closed, people are drawn to your purpose, and God is glorified in your life.

🔥 Final Thought: Is the LORD with You?

It is not enough to say, “I know the LORD.”
The greater truth is: Does the LORD know you? (Matthew 7:21–23)

“The LORD being with you” is the best thing that can ever be said about your life.
It means God has found your heart trustworthy. It means your obedience and humility have drawn Him in.

Let this be your daily prayer:
“Lord, let Your presence be with me. Without You, I am nothing. But with You, I can do all things.” (Philippians 4:13)

🙏 Prayer of Divine Presence

“Heavenly Father, search my heart and see if there is any pride or disobedience in me. Cleanse me, sanctify me, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Let Your presence go with me wherever I go. Let others see that You are with me—not because of my words, but because of my fruits. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
