Stop Hindering God — Let Him Use You as He Wills

Do not confine God to a space with a four-foot ceiling. Let God’s will be done.1 Corinthians 12:10-11 reminds us that God distributes His gifts as He wills. He alone decides which gift each person should have. Some people will act with God but may never manifest His signs and wonders. Not everyone is called to the office of prophecy or to perform miracles.

Do not confine God to a space with a four-foot ceiling

Key Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:10-11, Acts 10, Acts 1:4, Matthew 25:14–30, Romans 9:20-21

Do Not Confine God to Human Expectations

Many believers today struggle because they try to control how God should use them. They set human expectations on a divine calling, hoping to manifest power, signs, and wonders in their own way and time.

However, God alone determines how He will use each person.

📖 1 Corinthians 12:10-11
“He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or another spirit. Still, another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”

Some are called to perform signs and wonders, while others are called to serve, lead, or teach. Not everyone will manifest the same spiritual gifts.

Biblical Examples of Different Callings

  1. Called to Serve a Person

    • Ruth was not a prophet or miracle worker, yet her faithfulness to Naomi led to her becoming part of Jesus’ lineage (Ruth 1:16-17).

    • Joseph was called to manage resources and save Egypt and Israel (Genesis 41:39-41).

    • Cornelius was called to bring salvation to his household (Acts 10:1-4).

  2. Called to Serve a Nation

    • Moses and Joshua were chosen to lead Israel to the Promised Land (Exodus 3:10, Joshua 1:2-3).

    • Nehemiah was called to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2:17-18).

  3. Called to Serve the Church

    • The Apostles were sent to establish and strengthen the early church (Acts 2:42-47).

    • Paul was called to spread the Gospel to the Gentiles (Acts 9:15-16).

📖 Romans 9:20-21
“Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, ‘Why have you made me like this?’ When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay for one jar for honor and another for ordinary use?”

We must let God determine our assignment.

Wait for God’s Timing and Processing

Jesus Instructed His Disciples to Wait

📖 Acts 1:4
“Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before.”

The disciples had seen Jesus perform mighty miracles, yet He told them to wait before going out to minister.

  • Why? Because they needed the Holy Spirit’s power to do God’s work in God’s way.

  • If they had rushed out on their own, Satan would have embarrassed them.

💡 Lesson: Many Christians today rush into ministry without waiting for God’s processing. They seek power through fasting and human effort, trying to force God to act. But God knows their motives—He will use them only in His own time and way.

The Danger of Calling Yourself to Ministry

Many people call themselves into ministry instead of being called by God.

  • Some rely on speaking skills, storytelling, or comedy to attract people.

  • Others imitate miracles without true spiritual authority.

  • Some seek power for fame and personal gain, rather than to glorify God.

📖 Matthew 25:14-30 (The Parable of the Talents)
“The master gave one servant five talents, another two, and another one—each according to his ability. The one with five talents gained five more, and the one with two talents gained two more. But the one with one talent hid it in the ground and made no profit.”

God tests our commitment with what He has already given us before He entrusts us with more.

💡 Lesson: Instead of seeking power, we should focus on faithfulness with the gifts we already have.

Let God Decide How and When to Use You

Instead of trying to force God’s hand, we should pray like Prophet TB Joshua taught:

📖 “Lord, make me an agent, a channel, an instrument for Your projects. You decide what, how, and when You will use me.”

Before You March for God, You Must First March With Him

  • Do not rush ahead of God’s plan.

  • Do not compare your calling with others.

  • Do not force yourself into a ministry God did not assign you to.

  • Instead, stay faithful, be obedient, and let God manifest His power in His own time.

Final Encouragement: Trust God’s Plan for Your Life

📖 Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Let God decide how He wants to use you. If He has called you to teach, teach faithfully. If He has called you to serve, serve faithfully. If He has called you to lead, lead with integrity.

🎯 God does not make mistakes. Trust Him and stay faithful.
