WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SECRET PLACE?
Matthew 6:6, Galatians 6:7-8
Your Secret Place is a Sacred Place
A secret place is a spiritual battleground where extreme things can happen—extreme good or extreme evil.
It is a place where you are most vulnerable, where your true self is revealed, and where life-changing actions are birthed.
What is Your Secret Place?
As a Christian, your secret place should be:
A sanctuary of holy quietness.
A space for communing with God in solitude.
A place to read the Scriptures and meditate on His Word.
A holy ground for fervent prayers.
But sadly, for some, the secret place can also become:
A haven for the devil to commune with them, grooming negative thoughts.
A place where evil is planned or shameful acts (like watching pornography) are committed.
What Happens in the Secret Place?
👉 Matthew 6:6: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
This verse shows us that:
God sees everything done in your secret place.
What happens in secret will manifest publicly, whether good or evil.
How Are You Using Your Secret Place?
1️⃣ For Good:
Praying with a humble heart.
Studying the Word to draw closer to God.
Meditating on God’s promises to renew your mind.
Worshipping God with sincerity.
The reward? Great blessings, spiritual growth, and divine strength.
2️⃣ For Evil:
Breeding negative thoughts like hatred, envy, or lust.
Watching ungodly content, such as pornography.
Planning evil acts like deceit or revenge.
The result? Destruction, guilt, shame, and spiritual stagnation.
Why is the Secret Place So Important?
Your actions in secret shape your future.
What you do now will be credited to your tomorrow.If you fill your secret place with God’s presence, you’ll see His power in your life.
If you allow evil in your secret place, the devil will sow seeds of destruction.
The secret place is where battles are won or lost.
If you meet God there, you’ll receive strength to overcome.
If the devil gains control there, you’ll become spiritually weak.
You Can’t Escape the Consequences
While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose the consequences.
🔸 Galatians 6:7–8: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”
If you sow goodness in your secret place, you will reap God’s blessings.
If you sow evil, you will reap destruction.
How to Maximize Your Secret Place for Good
1️⃣ Create a Sacred Routine:
- Set aside time daily for prayer, Bible reading, and meditation.
2️⃣ Fill Your Mind with Positive Thoughts:
- Meditate on scriptures like Philippians 4:8: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
3️⃣ Avoid Temptation:
Guard your secret place from evil influences.
Stay away from activities that invite the devil, such as watching explicit content.
4️⃣ Invite the Holy Spirit:
- Ask the Holy Spirit to take charge of your secret place and help you build a strong relationship with God.

🙏 Lord Jesus, I surrender my secret place to You. Help me to guard it with all diligence and fill it with Your Word, prayers, and worship. Cleanse me from every evil thought or act that may contaminate my heart. Holy Spirit, guide me in building a sacred secret place that brings glory to Your name. Amen!
FINAL REMINDER
Remember, the secret place is where your true self meets either God or Satan.
Choose wisely. Use your secret place to honor God, and He will reward you openly.
