How Obvious is Your God in Your Daily Life?
How Obvious is Your God in Your Daily Life?
Genesis 21:22, James 2:17-18, Matthew 1:23
Abimelech said to Abraham in Genesis 21:22 (NLT):
“God is obviously with you, helping you in everything you do.”
Abimelech was not a man who shared Abraham’s faith, yet he could clearly see that God was with Abraham. This speaks volumes about Abraham’s life—his dependence on God was so evident that even those outside his faith could recognize it.
This raises a question for every believer: What do people see when they look at you?
Do they see the mighty God in you and with you (Emmanuel – Matthew 1:23), or do they see someone overwhelmed by complaints, depression, and worry about life’s challenges?
Living Out Your Faith
As Christians, the evidence of God in our lives is displayed through our character and good deeds. James 2:17-18 reminds us:
“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
Faith isn’t just a matter of belief; it must be alive and active. It is reflected in how we interact with others, how we face challenges, and how we embody hope, joy, and peace even in difficult times. The God we serve is mighty, and His presence in our lives should be visible to those around us.
When people observe our lives, they should be able to say, “God is obviously with you.” This can only happen when we live a life of dependence on Him, allowing His character to shine through us.
What Does This Mean for You?
🌱 Abraham’s Life Reflected His God.
- Abraham’s reliance on God was visible in his actions, decisions, and character.
🌱 What Do People See When They Look at You?
Do they see the mighty God in you? (Emmanuel—Matthew 1:23)
Or do they see someone constantly complaining, worrying, or being depressed about life?
🌱 Faith is Evident Through Action.
- As James 2:17-18 teaches, “Faith without works is dead.” Genuine faith is reflected in our character and good deeds—how we treat others, how we endure trials, and how we live daily
Reflection Questions:
1️⃣ Are you living in a way that makes God’s presence in your life undeniable to others?
2️⃣ Does your character and attitude reflect the peace, love, and hope of Jesus Christ? What Should You Do?
Prayer
“Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to live a life of complete dependence on You. Let Your presence in me be obvious to others through my character, my words, and my deeds. Take more of me and give me more of You. Amen.”
