God Can Use Any Medium to Express His Power
God Can Use Any Medium to Express His Power
Acts 19:11–12, John 9:6–7, Exodus 14:16, 2 Kings 5:14
God’s Power Through Uncommon Mediums
Do you know that God can use any medium to express His power? Throughout the Bible and even today, God has used seemingly ordinary objects, people, and actions to demonstrate His might and bring about healing, deliverance, and restoration. These mediums are not the source of power—they are points of contact for faith.
Here are examples from Scripture to illustrate how God has worked through various mediums:
Paul’s Handkerchiefs and Aprons
- Acts 19:11–12: “God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured, and the evil spirits left them.”
Moses’ Staff
- Exodus 14:16: God instructed Moses to stretch out his staff, and the Red Sea was split for the Israelites to cross on dry ground. “Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.”
The Voices of Peter and John
- Acts 3:6: Peter said to the crippled man, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” By faith, the man was healed.
A Dirty River
- 2 Kings 5:14: Naaman was healed of leprosy when he obeyed God’s instruction to wash in the Jordan River seven times. “So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.”
Noise of a Violent Rushing Wind
- Acts 2:1-4: ” When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”
David’s Catapult
- 1 Samuel 17:49: God used a small stone and David’s sling to defeat the giant Goliath.*“Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.”*
Mud and Saliva
- John 9:6–7: Jesus made mud with His saliva and applied it to a blind man’s eyes. After washing in the pool of Siloam, the man received his sight.
Peter’s Shadow
- Acts 5:15–16: People brought their sick into the streets, and Peter’s shadow passing over them brought healing.
Pool of Bethesda
- Acts 5:15–16: “Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda a and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.”
Elisha’s Bones
- 2 Kings 13:21: A dead man came back to life after his body touched the bones of the prophet Elisha.
Elisha’s Mantle
- 2 Kings 2:14: “He took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said,”Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?” When he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha went over.”
Samson’s Hair
- 2 Kings 13:21: “So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.”“
How God Used Mediums in Prophet T.B. Joshua’s Ministry
In Prophet T.B. Joshua’s ministry, God has also demonstrated His power through various mediums to meet the needs of His people. These included:
Anointed objects:
Sand
Anointing water,
Handkerchiefs,
Faith bracelets
Stickers
Passports - Small card size pictures of Jesus, the ancient prophets, and apostles with Holy Ghost-inspired handwriting of TB Joshua.
Sermon Notes
Believers’ Card
Keyrings with Scriptures.
Touching the Screen: Viewers received healing, deliverance, and breakthroughs during Emmanuel TV’s mass prayers.
Living Water Services: God used this as a medium for miracles and healing.
Personal Prophecy: Through God’s anointing, Prophet T.B. Joshua revealed the root causes of problems and spoke divine solutions into people’s lives.
These mediums were points of contact that strengthened people’s faith in God and allowed His anointing to reach millions globally.
The Lesson: Focus on God, Not the Medium
While God can use any medium to express His power, the medium itself is not the source of power. The objects remain ordinary without faith in God, who is the true source of all miracles.
Do Not Worship the Medium
- It is important to remember that the handkerchief, anointing water, or any other object is not what heals or delivers. It is God Almighty who works through the object to honor your faith.
Faith is the Key
Without faith, these objects remain ordinary. Faith in God is what activates the power behind the medium.
Mark 11:22-23: “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
God Does As He Wills
God chooses how to work in any given situation. It is not about the medium; it is about God’s will and your obedience to it.
Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us:
“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.’”
Obedience is the Key, Not Knowledge
Naaman initially doubted the instruction to wash in the Jordan River because it didn’t make sense to him. But his healing only came when he obeyed.
The same applies today. When God gives an instruction—whether through a prophet or a medium—obedience unlocks His blessings.
Prayer
“Lord Almighty, I thank You for the many ways You express Your power in our lives. Help me to focus on You and not on the medium. Strengthen my faith and teach me to obey Your will, even when I don’t understand. Use my life as a vessel for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
